The Sewing Diaries : The Return

If you have been following me on Instagram you may already know that I'm back at sewing. I started months ago, however, at the time I had really odd hours at the job I was working at, and second I got to the point where I didn't know what else to do, or what it all meant because I was trying to teach myself how to sew. But recently as I was organizing my room I placed the sewing machine on my desk and realized how much I missed making my own things.

So when I got an email that A Beautiful Mess Shop [Yes, I'm a little obsessed with their shop. lol] was coming out with a new online Sewing class, I knew it was my sign and I signed up right away. I knew that what I was missing was a little guidance. Since I've signed up I have LOVED it! I do have to say that as much as this is a beginners course, a little sewing and sewing machine knowledge is probably needed.

I decided to go step by step and take each lesson as it comes. So for the second project I got to make the cute half apron, pictured above. I have absolutely loved going to the fabric shop and pick out my own fabrics, and imagined my own projects come to live. The thing I love the most is that I get to make something that is unique. Because, yes, even though I'm following instructions, I get to pick my own fabrics and imagine and create. I truly believe that if you are a creative and you are not really in creative job the best thing you can do is find something that you love to do and do it on the side! Let your creativity shine through. :)

I will soon be sharing, some beginner tips on what I've learned so far. I cannot wait to keep going.

Happy Easter Weekend.
